استقبل السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم السيد نجيب ميقاتي رئيس الحكومة اللبنانية، بحضور اللواء عباس كامل رئيس المخابرات العامة، والسفير علي الحلبي سفير لبنان بالقاهرة.
وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية أن اللقاء شهد تأكيد قوة وعمق العلاقات التاريخية الوثيقة والتنسيق المستمر بين البلدين الشقيقين، حيث شدد السيد الرئيس في هذا الصدد على ثبات الدعم المصري لمؤسسات الدولة اللبنانية بما يحافظ على استقرار لبنان وأمن شعبها، وهو ما ثمنه رئيس الحكومة اللبناني مؤكداً أهمية الدور المصري في ترسيخ الاستقرار بلبنان، بما يعكس خصوصية العلاقة بين البلدين.
ذكر المتحدث الرسمي أن اللقاء تناول كذلك سبل تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين في شتى المجالات، كما جرى التباحث حول الأوضاع الإقليمية والتصعيد العسكري الإسرائيلي في غزة، حيث أعرب الرئيس ميقاتي عن التقدير للدور المصري المسئول في هذه الأزمة الخطيرة على المسارين السياسي والإنساني، واستعرض السيد الرئيس الجهود التي تقوم بها مصر للدفع في اتجاه وقف إطلاق النار وإتاحة المجال لنفاذ المساعدات الإنسانية، وأكد الجانبان ضرورة تحمل المجتمع الدولي لمسئولياته في هذا الصدد، من خلال العمل المكثف على احتواء الموقف وتجنب توسع نطاق العنف، مع ضرورة إعادة إطلاق مسار السلام، وتطبيق مبدأ حل الدولتين، بما يحقق العدل والأمن والاستقرار لشعوب المنطقة.
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati. The meeting was also attended by Director of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Abbas Kamel, and Lebanon’s Ambassador in Cairo.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, said that during the meeting the two sides underscored the robust, profound and firm historical relations between the two countries as well as the ongoing coordination between them. President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s steadfast position in support of the institutions of the Lebanese State, in a manner that preserves the stability of Lebanon and the security of its people. Lebanon’s Prime Minister valued this position and confirmed the importance of the Egyptian role in solidifying stability in Lebanon, which reflects the special characteristics of the two countries’ relations.
The meeting discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in an array of fields. It also focused on the regional situation and the Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip. Prime Minister Mikati expressed appreciation for Egypt’s responsible role in this grave crisis at both the political and humanitarian tracks. President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to push toward achieving a ceasefire and allowing the delivery of humanitarian aid. The two sides underlined the critical need for the international community to assume its responsibilities in this regard, by working intensively on containing the situation and averting the expansion of the scope of violence. They stressed the necessity to relaunch the peace track and apply the principle of the two-state solution, in a way that achieves justice, security and stability for the peoples of the region.
